This Committee is busy with fund-raising activity for a variety of projects, both at home and abroad throughout the year. For quite some time now, the Church has chosen to raise money through the “1% Appeal”, rather than via the traditional Harvest-type collection. In recent years, the people of Trinity Church, mindful of their duty to give back to God what is rightly his, have managed to amass totals of around £10 000 annually to support work locally and overseas. Decisions are made each year as to the beneficiaries and the largest proportion has always been sent to assist work abroad. A fixed sum is allocated to Leeds Faith in Schools from the proceeds each year and the remainder is used to help a local charity or one with which we have a strong connection.
In addition to this, the Committee also coordinates Trinity’s contribution to the work of Christian Aid, Fairtrade, PAFRAS and to world problem situations as they arise through the Disasters Emergency Committee. The members of this group are all conscious of the privilege and responsibility of serving God in this way.
